New singers are always welcome!
We have auditions at our open rehearsals three times a year. The open rehearsals for the 2025-2026 season are:
- September 8, 2025, for our Christmas concert on December 13 & 14, 2025
- December 15, 2025, for our mid-winter concert on February 22, 2026
- February 23, 2026, for our spring concert on April 26, 2026
We rehearse Monday evenings from 7 to 9 pm, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 21206 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.

Who is the Jefferson Choral Society?
The Jefferson Choral Society (JCS) is the largest and longest-continuing volunteer adult choir in Central Virginia. We provide the greater Lynchburg area with a variety of performances including choral masterworks, Broadway show tunes, folk songs, popular music, gospel music, and music from nations around the world.
We typically perform three major concerts each year - in December, in the mid-winter, and in the spring - as well as an annual benefit concert at the National D-Day Memorial.

The Jefferson Choral Ensemble had an amazing performance at The Summit! The work hard and sing hard and we are always thankful for the music they bring to the community!
How many music and art lovers can you fit in an elevator? That's just one of the many things we found out at the Virginia Commission for the Arts recent Meet N' Greet held here in Lynchburg! Thanks to all who attended for a great time getting to know one another and thanks to Geoffrey Kershner for the tour and history lesson on our wonderful Historic Academy Theatre!"
